How to Install Souus Flow

Never installed a browser extension manually before? No problem. This guide will walk you through every step. It takes about 2 minutes.

Choose your browser:

Chrome

Edge

Brave

Download the extension

Click the "Download Free" button on our homepage. A file called souus-flow.zip will be saved to your Downloads folder.

Not sure where your Downloads folder is? On Windows it's usually C:\Users\YourName\Downloads. On Mac it's ~/Downloads.

Unzip the file

Find souus-flow.zip in your Downloads folder and extract (unzip) it:

Windows: Right-click the zip file → "Extract All..." → Click "Extract"
Mac: Double-click the zip file (it extracts automatically)

You should now see a folder called souus-flow (or dist) containing files like manifest.json.

Do NOT delete this folder after installation. The browser needs it to keep running the extension.

Open the Extensions page

In Chrome, type this in your address bar and press Enter:

chrome://extensions

Or: click the ⋮ menu (top-right) → "Extensions" → "Manage Extensions"

In Edge, type this in your address bar and press Enter:

edge://extensions

Or: click the ⋯ menu (top-right) → "Extensions" → "Manage Extensions"

In Brave, type this in your address bar and press Enter:

brave://extensions

Or: click the ☰ menu (top-right) → "Extensions" → "Manage Extensions"

Enable Developer Mode

On the Extensions page, look for a toggle switch labeled "Developer mode" in the top-right corner. Click it to turn it ON.

Developer mode lets you load extensions from your own files instead of only from the store. This is safe — millions of developers use it daily.

Load the extension

After enabling Developer mode, you'll see new buttons appear at the top. Click "Load unpacked".

A file picker window will open. Navigate to the folder you extracted in Step 2 (the one containing manifest.json) and click "Select Folder".

Make sure you select the folder that directly contains manifest.json, not a parent folder. If you see files like manifest.json and assets/ inside, you're in the right place.

You're done! 🎉

Souus Flow is now installed. You should see it appear in your extensions list. Try it out:

Open a new tab — you'll see the Souus Flow dashboard
Click the puzzle piece icon (🧩) in your toolbar to access the popup
Click the ⚙ Settings link to customize themes and behavior

Pin the extension to your toolbar: click the puzzle piece icon → find Souus Flow → click the pin 📌 icon.

Common Questions

I see "Errors" on the extension card — is that normal?

If the only error is about "service worker registration," try reloading the extension (click the refresh ↻ icon on the extension card). This sometimes happens on first load and resolves itself.

Can I move the folder after installing?

No. The browser references the folder's location. If you move or rename it, the extension will stop working. You'd need to "Load unpacked" again from the new location.

How do I update to a new version?

Download the new zip, extract it to the same location (overwriting old files), then go to the extensions page and click the refresh ↻ icon on Souus Flow's card.

How do I uninstall?

Go to the extensions page, find Souus Flow, and click "Remove." You can then safely delete the folder from your computer.

Will it work when Chrome Web Store version is available?

Yes! Once available on the store, you can install that version (which auto-updates) and remove the manual one. Your settings will carry over.

Is this safe? Why isn't it on the Chrome Web Store yet?

Souus Flow is completely safe — it makes zero network requests and all data stays local. We're in the process of submitting to the Chrome Web Store and Edge Add-ons. Loading unpacked is how all extensions are developed and tested.
